What we do

Nurse Tiber Offers:

Disclaimer:

While nurses can ‘address’ concerns and ‘work on’ or ‘improve’ problem areas that lead and contribute to many foot concerns, we cannot “fix” or “cure” many of them. Please see your Podiatrist if you have symptoms of infection (hot/red skin, white/yellow skin [with pus below], sudden onset of pain).

Keep in mind:

It is not uncommon to feel a mild discomfort after significant foot care services (examples: non-surgical removal of ingrown toenail, removal of an extreme callus) even if there is no discomfort during the service! Consider that similar to a massage, we may feel a great amount of relief in the moment, but feel sore the next day as our lymphatic system filters through everything we rub out of our muscles (lactic acid, et cetera).

Plan ahead:

If you have sensitive feet and need a lot of work done, consider scheduling foot care at least two days before any prolonged standing or heavy walking activities.

Removal of Excess Skin and Nail

Nurse Tiber uses sanding bands on one of two drills (especially designed for nails) to reduce unhelpful tissue that might otherwise become infected, contribute to involution or ingrowing, encourage improper foot alignment, and may hide underlying issues. These drills or ‘files’ can be used on the sides/edges and bottom (“dark side“) of the feet, also be used to ‘polish’ the skin. Other tools are used to prevent ingrowing nails, ‘explore’ nail edges and rough/colorful areas for brewing issues, and assess sensation.

Focused Foot Health Assessments

As we age and add to our list of comorbidities (overlapping ongoing conditions) things can get a little complicated, and our feet carry all the weight of it — literally! Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, Cardiovascular Insufficiency, Lymphedema, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Dementia, Structural Changes affecting Movement; Lower Extremity Edema (fluid accumulation), Increased Risk for potentially debilitating Infection and even Amputation. For our growing aging population, guided training is crucial to maintaining Skin and Tissue / Bone Integrity, Accessory Muscle (stabilizers) Strength, Range of Motion, and Balance Instincts, all imperative to Fall Prevention.

Care Advocacy

The highlight of Nurse Tiber’s career has been patient championing; encouraging and educating patients for better communication with their Health Care Providers, and offering a voice to those who have lost their autonomy. Unlike some others, he won’t charge clients for insider tips on Doc-Talkin to get the care you need.

Health Maintenance Assessments

Want to check your Blood Pressure without a machine? Need some educational materials that might be difficult to come by? Got some extra earwax? Need a Nurse to look at it? Whether you have a fear of / aversion to medical offices or transportation difficulty, and you simply want a nurse to check-up-on some of these smaller concerns, Nurse Tiber offers a small list of services that are often forgotten or difficult to perform yourself.

The Finer Things

Want some simple pampering? Nurse Tiber also enjoys offering the ‘finer things in life’, acknowledging the importance of self-care activities, and breaking up the routine. He can offer Circulation Stimulation, Leg / Foot Rubs and Stretching, and miiiiight even Paint your toenails with an anti-fungal polish, for a salon-competitive price.

What they’re saying:

“Thank you so much. I thought I’d never find someone to get these feet taken care of.”
